About the NHS Induction Ceremony

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) is thrilled to host two international induction ceremonies for all NHS and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) schools in 2021 to coincide with the NHS Centennial celebration. NHS and NJHS schools, students, and their families are welcome to attend the live broadcast, which will offer traditional marks of an induction ceremony including the pledge, presentation of the pillars, and guest speakers.

About the National Honor Society

NHS elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada, and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

New Inductees—Create Your Account Today!

Student members of NHS are encouraged to create their very own student account with a parent or guardian. Upon doing so, they will be able to have their member status verified by their adviser and receive the most up-to-date information about our programs and activities delivered straight to their inbox.

Students members with accounts can access the NHS Scholarship, earn a digital badge, and access the National Student Project Database.

Celebrate the NHS Centennial

Since its inception in 1921, NHS has been a pioneer among student organizations in the United States by using a unique, forward-thinking lens to recognize students for far more than academia.

NHS officially recognized its hundred-year anniversary last month, and the centennial celebrations are only beginning! Help your chapter celebrate—this centennial toolkit can help you plan activities and get the word out to your community.

UNICEF Partnership

To celebrate the centennial, NHS and UNICEF USA have partnered in a global service project that empowers chapters to raise $480,000 which will go towards building 10 sustainable classrooms in Côte d’Ivoire using recycled plastic bricks—one classroom to honor every decade of NHS.
